Tallinn remote tower centre is now serving Kuressaare flights

Starting from today, 8 May, flights at Kuressaare Airport will be served from the Estonian Air Navigation Services remote tower centre in Tallinn. This is a step forward in the state plan to consolidate the flight information service of all regional airports to one centre, harmonising the service and providing it remotely using digital solutions.

EANS updates alternative solution to GPS communication solution

To ensure better air traffic safety, the Estonian Air Navigation Services (EANS) is updating the navigation network and introduced additional Distance Measuring Equipments (DME). This is an alternative to the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), which includes GPS among others.

Changes in membership of the Supervisory Board of Lennuliiklusteeninduse AS

Head of the Aviation Department of the Ministry of Climate Taivo Linnamägi was appointed the new member of the Supervisory Board of Lennuliiklusteeninduse AS, which will proceed with three members. The main challenge that the local aviation industry is currently facing is recovery from the rapid reduction of air traffic owing to two consecutive crises. A number of developments, such as several new drone-related solutions, are also in the works.
