The Borealis Alliance Free Route Airspace programme has been awarded a coveted prize by the European Commission in recognition of the Single European Sky 2016 achievements. Updated!

The prize has been awarded for the contribution into the establishment of the Single European Sky, because the Free Route Airspace of the Borealis Alliance will provide a single flight-plannable area of Free Route Airspace covering nine North European countries by 2021 which will reduce CO2 emission by 70 000 tonnes and save 15 million Euro annually.
